Tue. 03, 1953 - Danish Mine-Vessel Blown Up At Ronne: Three Danish mariners were killed and ten seriously injured when the Danish mine-layer” Lougen” was blown up by a violent explosion at the moment it went alongside the Ronne quay, Bornholmm. The cause of the explosion is said to be an overturned jerrican with petrol in the engine-room. Here the explosion came and the victims of the catastrophe were also found here. “Lougen” had a crew of thirty. The ship carried a red flag which means “No fire - no smoking” on board. The ship sprang a leak at the explosion but it is tried to get it in a dock. It is feared that the number of victims will increase. They have been taken to Copenhagen by an ambulance airplane. Photo shows a view from the desperate rescuing work.
