If the text attempts to prove the equality of small French metropolis and small Arabs by saying “Arabs are good schoolchildren, they learn as well as little French, they do such good homework... France wants the little Arabs to be as well educated as the little Frenchmen, this proves that our France is good for the peoples it has submitted.” It should be noted that the image shows an obvious segregation: on one side the “French”, on the other the Arabs. No melange!
Andromaque: engraving (1883) by Meaulle after a painting by Georges Rochegrosse (1859-1938). In the hands of the Greek soldiers, Andromaque tries to hold his son Astyanax, taken away by a Thracian hoplite who will hand him over to Odysseus (Ulysses). The latter waits for Hector's son at the top of the stairs, to precipitate him from the top of the ramparts. At the beginning of the staircase, the Svastika (gammee cross), a symbol discovered shortly before by the archeologist Heinrich Schliemann (1822-1890) on the walls of the ancient city of Troy.
Muslims leaving Narbonne returned to the Franks. In 759, after seven years of blockade, the town of Narbonne, where the Arab forces had taken refuge after the submission of Gothia (Narbonnese province), was taken by the army of Pepin le Brief. Not rescued by the Muslims of Spain, the cities of Roussillon also surrendered. The Muslims were expelled from Gaul and the Franks dominated the Pyrenees, the Muslim governor of Catalonia recognized himself as a vassal of Pepin. This German map of Liverpool dates back to the Second World War. It is one of a series of maps used by German bomber pilots in their night-time missions over Britain. Only the most obvious features are included on the map: towns, railway lines, major roads, woodland etc. The map's bright colours helped the pilots to pick out details at night - remember pilots would have had to read the maps in dark aeroplanes. Note the areas marked in red and yellow. These were the target areas for the mission. Dock areas such as Portsmouth and Southampton were regular targets for the German Airforce, and were heavily bombed during the course of the war. On this map, the yellow circle surrounding the area just outside Oldham, is marked with the words 'Achtung. Deutsches Gefangenenlager in Oldham-Leeds'. This alerted the bomber pilots to a prisoner of war camp which was holding German soldiers - obviously an area that was to be avoided during the mission.

Rainbow - Rainbow - Rainbow - Arc - en - ciel observed in Brittany on 2 May 2005. 23 minutes before the sun sets, a contrasting rainbow appears in the east. It is very high (the lower the Sun, the higher the bow). Note at the level of the “feet” of the rainbow the difference in luminosite between the interior of the rainbow (under the main arch) and the band between the main arch and the secondary arch (lower and higher). This dark band is called Alexander's Band. It should also be noted that blue is almost absent from the rainbow, because the Sun is setting, therefore orange, betrays a blue light faults that can be seen at the level of the rainbow. May 2, 2005. 23 minutes before the sunset, a contrasted rainbow appear toward the East. It's a tall rainbow, because the Sun is low. Notice the difference of luminosity at the “” feet”” of the rainbow between the inside of the rainbow (under the main arc) and the band located between the main and secondary arcs (fainter and higher). This darker band is called the Alexander's dark band. Notice too that the blue tints are missing in the rainbow, because the sun is setting, so is orange, which means that its blue tints are absent
