View of the Civil War armoured vessel. Includes the names and titles of the "Officers of the U.S.S. Frigate 'New Ironsides'" and figures for the dimensions, weight, horse power, and armament of the ship. Ship commissioned by the U.S. Navy in 1862 and built by Philadelphia machinists Merrick & Sons and shipbuilders Cramp & Sons. Ship destroyed by fire on December 16, 1866.
