Located in Bonogram, these sets of buildings are set for demolition paving the way for new modern flats. St. Thomas' Anglican Church in Johnson Road was completed in 1819, and consecrated on Sunday, July 10, 1824 by Bishop Heber, the Metropolitan of Calcutta when he was visiting Dhaka. Externally, its porch, crenellated parapet, clock tower and Gothic arches are similar to the parish churches in England. The main hall is flat roofed supported by wooden girders inside, but the verandah roof is sloped. The Lalbagh Fort or Fort Aurangabad, an incomplete Mughal palace fortress in Old Dhaka. The construction of the fort was commenced in 1678 AD by Prince Muhammad Azam during his 15 month long vice-royalty of Bengal, but before he could complete the work he was recalled by Aurangzeb. His successor, Shaista Khan did not continue the work, though he stayed in Dhaka up to 1688. His daughter Bibi Pari (Lady Fairy) died here in 1684 and this led him to consider the fort to be ominous.
