Having lived in the Scilly Isles, Alexandra Cowan is fascinated by the sea and this has provided her with many of her images. <br> <br> Cowan is largely self taught and started painting because she loved the vivid colours you could create on silk – exploring the way the paint moved and how one could affect that and wonderful effects from it. She has exhibited and sold her works through commissions and now lives just outside London.<br>
