Colin Booth was born in 1951 in Gateshead; he now lives and works in St. Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. In his own words….."In looking for ways in which to make very small, intimate paintings, I began working with irregular-shaped pieces of wood and ply. These have an ‘object’ quality that makes the viewer more aware of the surrounding interior and architectural space. Where my work clearly differs from architecture and the built environment, is in its approach to ‘imperfection’.
