Pierre Alechinsky is a Belgian artist born in Brussels in 1927. He studied at the École nationale supérieure d'Architecture et des Arts décoratifs in Brussels and later at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Alechinsky is known for his unique style of calligraphic painting, which combines elements of Eastern and Western art. He was a member of the CoBrA group, a collective of artists who sought to break away from traditional art forms and explore new ways of expression.
