Edward Bawden (1903-89) was an English artist and illustrator known for his distinctive style of graphic design. Born in Essex, Bawden studied at the Cambridge School of Art and later at the Royal College of Art in London. He began his career as a commercial artist, designing posters, book covers, and illustrations for magazines. Bawden's work was characterized by his use of bold colors, simple shapes, and a playful sense of humor. He was particularly known for his illustrations of animals and landscapes, which often featured a whimsical, almost childlike quality.
