Leonetto Cappiello (1875-1942) was an Italian poster artist who revolutionized the art of advertising in the early 20th century. Born in Livorno, Italy, Cappiello moved to Paris in 1898 and began his career as a caricaturist for newspapers and magazines. He soon turned his attention to poster design, creating bold, colorful images that captured the attention of the public and helped to sell products ranging from cigarettes to bicycles.
