Childe Frederick Hassam was an American Impressionist painter born in 1859 in Boston, Massachusetts. He studied at the Boston Art Club and later at the Académie Julian in Paris. Hassam was known for his vibrant and colorful paintings of urban and coastal scenes, often depicting the bustling streets of New York City and the tranquil landscapes of New England. He was a member of the Ten American Painters, a group of artists who sought to promote Impressionism in the United States.
