Albert Marquet was a French painter born in Bordeaux in 1875. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was influenced by the works of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists. Marquet was known for his use of vibrant colors and his ability to capture the essence of light and atmosphere in his paintings. He was a member of the Fauvist movement and exhibited with them in 1905. Marquet's work often depicted landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes, and he was particularly drawn to the Mediterranean coast.
