Simon Marsden is an internationally acclaimed photographer of the fantastic and supernatural who has turned the photography of buildings and landscapes into his own art form.
Throughout his life Simon travelled extensively across Europe, the Middle East and America, photographing the architectural subjects and varied landscapes he encountered. His particular interest was the supernatural and places such as moonlit abbeys, old ruins and graveyards as well as the legends and stories connected with them, which fascinated him. No-one is better qualified to evoke the dark and melancholy side of this, the most mysterious of cities, and to stray from the tourist sites in order to explore the city's hidden recesses. His latest venture is a series of photographs for Venice, City of Haunting Dreams. Simon's images can be found in many prestigious collections, including the Getty Museum in California, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. ...
