Percy Tarrant was a British artist born in 1870. He studied at the Royal Academy Schools and became known for his landscape paintings, particularly those of the English countryside. Tarrant was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and exhibited his work at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, and the Paris Salon. He was also a prolific illustrator, creating illustrations for books and magazines, including the popular children's book "The Water Babies" by Charles Kingsley.
