Jessica Tcherepnine was born in Sussex, England in 1938. Her interest in plants first came from painting the flowers in her family’s garden. She studied the use of pencil and watercolour in Florence and developed a traditional style of observing plants with clarity.<br> <br> Since moving to America in 1968, Jessica has extended her subject matter to the greenhouses of Long Island, and the tropical islands of the Caribbean. Her subjects now include exotic flowers, vegetables and fruit. Her work can be found in many public collections including the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation Jessica Tcherepnine was born in Sussex, England in 1938.
