Marie Clementine Valadon, also known as Suzanne Valadon, was a French painter and artist model born on September 23, 1865, in Bessines-sur-Gartempe, France. She began her career as a model for artists such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, but later became a painter herself. Valadon was a self-taught artist who developed her own unique style, often depicting female nudes and still life subjects. She was one of the few female artists of her time to achieve recognition and success, exhibiting her work at the prestigious Salon d'Automne and Salon des Indépendants in Paris.
