Averil Mary Burleigh was a British artist born in 1906. She studied at the Royal College of Art in London and later became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists. Burleigh was known for her landscape paintings, which often depicted the countryside of England and Wales. She also painted portraits and still lifes. Burleigh exhibited her work at the Royal Academy and other prestigious galleries throughout her career. She was awarded the Royal Society of British Artists Gold Medal in 1956.
