Gérard Fromanger was a French painter and visual artist born in 1939 in Pontchartrain, France. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and began his career as a painter in the 1960s. Fromanger was a prominent figure in the French art scene and was associated with the New Figuration movement. He was known for his use of bright colors and his exploration of political and social themes in his work. Fromanger's art often featured images of people and objects in motion, and he was particularly interested in the relationship between art and society.
