A natural draughtswoman, Refina's paintings show innate compositional skill, firmness of touch and vitality of colour. She has always been an avid horse lover and keen observer of all equine sports. She posesses a perceptive eye for the varying moods of her subjects and is torn equally between her artwork and riding.<br> Refina studied Fine Art at Cambridge and Kindston Schools of Art and trotted off to Newmarket regularly to paint from life. Her commissions began with a portrait of Mill Reef, the Derby and Arc de Triomphe winner, this leading to numerous equine portraits.
