Born on the North East coast of England, the Durham and Northumberland coastlines became the first sources of inspiration for Derek Hare’s paintings, setting the theme for the subject matter he would become known for.<br> <br> Derek Hare is a self taught painter, studying commercial art at Sunderland Art College.
