Robert Hobhouse was educated in Eton and Oxford. He started his working life in advertising but has been a teacher in comprehensive schools in Essex and Somerset for the last ten years. He has had ten one-man shows, three with Highgate Fine Art and his paintings are represented in private collection all over the world. He tends to paint landscapes using a fauvist palette but has recently been doing a number of still lifes, often with a fruit or vegetable in front of a landscape.<br>
