Gil Mayers is an American artist born in 1947. He is known for his abstract paintings that explore the relationship between color, form, and texture. Mayers studied at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969. He then went on to earn his Master of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1972. Mayers' work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums throughout the United States, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
