Maurice Wilson was an American artist born in 1914 in New York City. He studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy of Design. Wilson was known for his abstract expressionist paintings, which were characterized by bold colors and gestural brushstrokes. He was also a member of the New York School of artists, which included Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. Wilson's work was exhibited in numerous galleries and museums throughout his career, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
