Alex Colville P.C.,C.C.,ONS (1920-2013) was a celebrated Canadian artist known for his distinctive style and exploration of the human condition. Born in Toronto, Ontario, he studied fine art at Mount Allison University before serving as a war artist during World War II. After teaching at Mount Allison from 1946 until 1963, he devoted himself entirely to his art, moving to Wolfville Nova Scotia in 1973.
