Anthea Durose was born in Birmingham, England and studied at the Birmingham College of Art and Crafts during the 1950s. She studied under B. Fleetwood-Walker, R.A., a specialist in portraiture. Her training included graphic techniques and she received commissions for book illustrations during her student days, from the publisher Arthur James of Evesham.<br> <br> After nine years teaching in South Africa, she settled in East Anglia, where she is well known.
