John Gubbins is a self-taught painter who can claim John Constable and Myles Birket Foster as ancestors. He lives in the Scottish Borders where he gains much of the inspiration for his work. His watercolours are botanically accurate in an artistic context. <br> <br> He is well known for his wild flower and butterfly paintings and more especially for his ‘Personalised Weeds’, a field in which he has built up an impressive nationwide clientele.
