Biografia

Paul Dominique Philippoteaux (1846-1923) was a French painter known for his historical and military scenes. Born in Paris, he was the son of the painter Henri Philippoteaux and studied under his father and at the École des Beaux-Arts. He gained recognition for his large-scale panoramas, including the Battle of Gettysburg and the Siege of Paris, which were exhibited in Paris and London. Philippoteaux also painted portraits and landscapes, and was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1898.
